Just How Safe is Frisco?

July 29, 2009 | 1 Comments

Most people I know (myself included), at least to some extent, have moved to Frisco due to the allure of the safety it provides. Yes, the crime rates are relatively low, the schools are some of the best in the state, and there are a large number of churches in the area. But, just how safe is it?

In this article, a pastor from the "safest city in America" challenges the notion that suburbs like Frisco are really that safe and that we should consider where the real dangers lie in our respective communities. What are your thoughts? Do you agree?

I agree with the article and believe that boredom is the #1 cause of teenage trouble. Not sure I agree with the comment regarding Hip Hop specific, although not my music of choice... I don't want to be quick to chop out all music of a genre'. Youth need healthy ways to keep busy, but not just for "busy sake." Opportunities for fellowship are extremely important, but we should also foster those opportunities for service, worship, and study. As a former Youth Pastor, I am a huge advocate and believer that the youth of today are our future. We (the community at large) invest in a lot of different things for entertainment and activities, but we desperately need to keep our focus and assist these young people as we come along side them in their journey towards becoming healthy, Christ loving, productive adults in society.
